Since 1993 the
Rencontres du Vietnam
, which is an official
partner of UNESCO, has
organised international scientific conferences
and schools to foster exchanges between
Vietnamese or Asia-Pacific scientists and colleagues
from other parts of the world.
The construction of the
International Centre for Interdisciplinary
Science Education
(ICISE)
in the city of Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam)
had the ambitious objective to focus on developing
Science and Education, helping young Asian students and
scientists to meet with the International Science community,
bringing the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge
from attending lectures and sharing ideas with overseas
high-level counterparts.
The Rencontres du Vietnam on
BSM in Particle Physics and Cosmology:
50 years later
It has been 50 years since the seminal grand unification work of Georgi and Glashow (and also of Pati and Salam) giving rise to the birth of physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM). Today, BSM plays a crucial role in addressing outstanding problems in particle physics and cosmology. This workshop will bring together theorists, phenomenologists and cosmologists to explore and discuss new theoretical and experimental ideas. Pursuing these ideas remains as important as ever to solve the puzzles posed by the Standard Model and to guide the quest for the first direct experimental evidence of new physics.
The conference will consist of in-person plenary sessions presenting talks on cutting edge topics in BSM physics. A special emphasis will be put on active participation of younger researchers and post-docs. A detailed scientific programme is currently in preparation; if you urgently need information which is currently not available on this site, you may contact Christophe Grojean (email).
