Since 1993 the Rencontres du Vietnam , which is an official partner of UNESCO, has organised international scientific conferences and schools to foster exchanges between Vietnamese or Asia-Pacific scientists and colleagues from other parts of the world.

The construction of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in the city of Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) has the ambitious objective to focus on developing Science and Education, helping young Asian students and scientists to meet with the International Science community, bringing the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge from attending lectures and sharing ideas with overseas high-level counterparts.

(To locate ICISE, open a Google Earth window and just type International Center of Interdisciplinary Science Education in the Search field.)

  The Rencontres du Vietnam on
Very High Energy Phenomena in the Universe

will focus on what is also called astroparticle physics. This meeting will be organized in Quy Nhon on a regular basis every 4 years, alternating with the Rencontres de Moriond meeting on the same subject. The conference will consist of plenary sessions for invited indepth oral presentations (review talks and talks on specific specialised topics), and contributed papers, in the form of relatively short oral papers. Special emphasis will be placed on active participation by younger researchers and post-docs.

This will be the 14th meeting in this series of topical international multidisciplinary meetings, created by Jean Trân Thanh Vân and which has in the past covered many topics in physics, astronomy and biology. All sessions take place in the newly created International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and education, in the university town of Quy Nhon, in Vietnam. Lunchs are served in the center to all participants, in order to enhance interaction between scientists at all levels.

  • Gamma Ray Astronomy
  • Cosmic Rays
  • Neutrino Astronomy
  • Gamma Ray Bursts
  • Dark Matter
