Event selection training

The two hour training, which will introduce you to online environment for interactive computational research, will be organized in addition to the standard conference program. The training time may be even extended if participants will wish to continue.

The training environment is based on IPython notebooks with easy access to ROOT and other scientific libraries. Majority of tasks will be focused on event selection with different Multivariate analysis (MVA) algorithms, data preparation techniques and estimation of different qualities of trained models. Materials of this training follow code and play approach allowing to focus on methods and techniques instead of coding and style practices.

Prerequisites: Portable computer, basics of Multivariate analysis (MVA) approach for event selection, ability to read python.
